Whether it’s to gain job experience or to spend holidays doing more than a summer job, the Social Entrepreneurship Experience and Development (SEED) program is giving youths another option to think about.
SEED was conceived by a group of students as part of the NUS Entrepreneurship Society project. It organizes a short internship program for youths at various social enterprises throughout Singapore during their summer holidays in June.
Especially in regards to helping ex-offenders or marginalized people integrate into society, social enterprises have been a popular vehicle for change in Singapore. So popular that they have grabbed the attention of both private and public sectors who see value in fostering their growth.
SEED will hold an open information session on Friday March 1st at the Marina Bay Sands Convention Hall. Other than providing information about the internship program, attendees will hear from speakers Helen Lim from Silver Spring, Alvin Yong from Clay Street, and Shiao-Yin Kuik from the School of Thought.
Registration can be done online.
