The Australian Centre for Social Innovation (TACSI) and Deloitte Australia, who were co-sponsors of the 10-day Changemakers Festival in Australia ending yesterday, announce a new three-year partnership to become principal sponsors of the Festival.
Created this year, the Festival celebrates the work on social change and innovation as well as provides an avenue for people to meet and exchange ideas. As an Australia-wide “open access” festival, it welcomes all to host an event as part of the festival lineup.
The Festival is a project by Social Innovation Exchange Australia, the local node of Social Innovation Exchange (SIX) based in London and networking arm of TACSI.
According to SIX, Deloitte will be hosting more of its own events at the Festival as it intends to focus its Foundation’s work on social innovation. This year, together with over 150 events, Deloitte hosted a Social Innovation Pitch Night where four Melbourne social entrepreneurs pitched their ideas to win $5,000 of mentoring assistance from Deloitte professionals.
“TACSI’s focus is squarely on impact – doing work that will create really big, lasting change,” said TACSI Acting CEO Carolyn Curtis. “Partnering with Deloitte will not only help extend and scale our own work, we’re also excited to be sharing our knowledge and equipping Deloitte’s people to incorporate more innovative approaches into their work, too.”
